Greetings! Journey Together is finally out, so now we know how much the new cards cost on average. Now, we can finally see which are the most expensive cards from this set.
How easily we can get these cards, the pull rates (which are different from country to country), their language, and many other factors all influence these prices directly.
Please note that we ranked these cards by how much they cost in USD. Furthermore, this is not a definitive ranking because, as in any market, these prices drastically change day by day.
Top 10 Most Expensive Cards from Journey Together
10 - Wailord (Illustration Rare - 162/159)

Recently, collectors have been investing in this Pokémon, partly because of how popular Magikarp & Wailord-GX PR-SM SM166 has become.
As a result, this card has become more valuable now, as soon as the new set came out. Furthermore, if you enjoy "rogue" lists, Wailord can be a viable Water attacker, particularly with Baxcalibur PR-SV 19.

Price: US$20.
9 - N's Zoroark ex (Gold Full Art/Hyper Rare - 189/159)

This is one of the "Trainer Partners" in this set, namely N and his signature Pokémon, Zoroark.
Its ability, Trade, is basically the same as Sun & Moon's Zoroark-GX, and its attack lets you copy attacks from your Benched Pokémon, as long as they're N's Pokémon.
Price: US$40.
8 - Articuno (Illustration Rare - 161/159)

Ad
Articuno, a Kanto Pokémon, has been a fan-favorite for a long time because of how nostalgic it is. Furthermore, this card was illustrated by kuroimori, a well-known artist who has recently begun working for the Pokémon Company, so it is even more valuable.
Price US$50.
7 - Iono's Bellibolt ex (Gold Full Art/Hyper Rare - 188/159)

This is the second Trainer Gold Full Art, namely Iono and her signature Pokémon, Bellibolt.
Its ability lets you attach one basic Electric energy from your hand to any of Iono's Pokémon. Meanwhile, this deck isn't that relevant in Standard, considering it only works with Iono's Pokémon.
Therefore, this card is this expensive because of how popular Iono is, instead of how playable she is (but, of course, it can also be interesting in alternative lists!).
Price: US$ 74.90.

6 - Salamence ex (Secret Illustration Rare - 187/159)

This is a "pseudo-legendary" Pokémon that shares space with Metagross in the Hoenn Pokédex, and is one of the most popular Pokémon in the community. Consequently, this is one of the most coveted cards from this set.
Curiously, it was illustrated by the legendary Tsuyoshi Nagano. If you don't know, Nagano is known for their work in KOEI games, like the classic Nobunaga's Ambition, which depicts the Sengoku Jidai period. This artist can clearly depict the most different artistic styles, from the more adult-centered artworks to the most subtle, fairytale Pokémon artworks.

Price: US$100.
5 - N's Reshiram (Illustration Rare Promo Logo - 167/159)

This card, in particular, features the set's logo, as shown below:

This beautiful card is included in the special Booster Box, Enhanced Box, which is the main way to get it.
It was illustrated by Bun Toujo, which brilliantly depicted Reshiram in the skies next to N, almost like they are in "heaven". In the Pokémon world, Reshiram represents truth, which makes N's lore even richer. He was a pawn in Ghetsis' game, and, to get redemption, he confronted his "dad", the leader of Team Plasma.
It's not difficult to understand why so many fans enjoy the Black/White arc: the story is rich and complex. All of this influences how much this card costs, and also how much N costs.
Price: US$119.99
4 - Hop's Zacian ex (Secret Illustration Rare - 186/159)

This card, beautifully illustrated by DOM, is their fourth work for the Pokémon Company. It is also one of the most popular Sword & Shield legendary.
Furthermore, it is also quite popular competitively speaking because of its interaction with Archaludon ex, as we discussed in this article about the deck.
Many collectors who invest in rare cards will certainly go after this card, as, besides strong, it is also gorgeous.
Price: US$120.
3 - N's Zoroark ex (Secret Illustration Rare - 185/159)

This card, illustrated by Megumi Mizutani, is even more expensive than its Gold Full Art version because it is more artistic. Its background is more detailed, and N is shown closer to Zoroark.
The same phenomenon happened with its first evolution, N's Zorua, included in Elite Trainer Boxes.

I strongly recommend you get N's Zorua because it will become even more expensive in the future.
Please note that Megumi Mizutani has worked for the Pokémon Company since the Unova generation, and they're responsible for the Mimikyu from the 7th generation, the Alolan generation.
Price: US$162.29.
2 - Iono's Bellibolt ex (Secret Illustration Rare - 183/159)

This is the "secret art" version of Iono's Bellibolt. Just like its Gold Full Art version, our 7th most expensive card, this card should become more popular with collectors who enjoy this character. In the current meta, in fact, it is not relevant competitively speaking.
Price: US$ 174.95.

1 - Lillie's Clefairy ex (Secret Illustration Rare - 184/159)

Our first place has a lot of potential in the Psychic archetype for two main reasons:
1) It easily deals a lot of damage, as it deals damage based on how many Pokémon are on both players' benches. You can combine this strategy with other cards like Dedenne ex sv2 93 and Area Zero Underdepths PRE 94, which extend your bench slots to 8.
2) Its ability makes Dragon Pokémon weak to Psychic Pokémon, so it is great against them.
It was also illustrated by Susumu Maeya, known for The Food Diary of Miss Maid, a women-centered piece.
Price: US$232.50.
